Ojcowski National Park (Małopolskie Voivodeship): Located close to Krakow , it is famous for its many hiking trails and monuments. Kazimierzowski Castle, Grota Łokietek, Chapel on the Water or the famous Mace of Hercules are just some of the attractions. There is also the Krakowska Gate in the park, where, according to legend, the distance between the columns is constantly decreasing year by year. Ojcowski National Park, although it is the smallest National Park in Poland (it covers an area of about 22 km), has really interesting attractions worth seeing. It is an ideal option for the weekend or for school trips.

You can move around the park both on foot and by bike. In addition, there is a provincial road, which makes it easy to reach individual attractions by car. It is worth remembering that some places are not available to tourists all year round. For example, Łokietka Cave is open from April to October, and the tour itself takes place only in the presence of a guide. The grotto is entered through a decorative gate with a spider, which refers to the legend associated with it.

Another attraction is the Krakow Gate, which is a symbol of the trade route between Krakow and Silesia that used to run there in the past.

In Ojców, you can find a natural exhibition in the historic Pod Łokietekem hotel and the ruins of the castle, which was built by Casimir the Great for his father, hence its name "Ojciec u Skały".

The next point is the chapel on the water, located in the old spa baths. The building stands on concrete supports over the stream, which is also associated with an interesting legend. Then it is worth going on a longer hike through the forest to see the beautiful Pieskowa Skała Castle.

Near the castle is the famous Club of Hercules, also known as Devil's Rock, a 25-meter rock with a metal cross on top. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to climb this rock. The Castle itself has been beautifully restored and is open to tourists all year round. Inside, we will find interesting exhibitions, we can visit the inner courtyard, enter the bastion, from which there is a beautiful view. Many famous productions were filmed in this castle, e.g. Janosik, Pan Wołodyjowski and With Fire and Sword.

From the castle, I suggest going along the yellow trail to the Dark Cave, which can also be visited under the guidance of a guide. In general, there are many caves in the park, but these two are the largest and most popular.

Finally, it is worth climbing the Crown Trail, from which there is a beautiful view of the Prądnik Valley. Its attractions are the Glove Rock and the Spring of Love, which are also associated with interesting legends.
