Is baptizing children passe?

It is not a matter of fashion, but of distancing oneself from religion. More and more people, for various reasons, are turning away from the teachings of the church, but this is happening not only in Christianity. Every religion is connected to faith and certain "obligations," and in today's world, everyone wants to be "free" and comfortable. Moreover, most rituals and actions of the church (speaking from a Catholic perspective) are associated with extracting money, which increasingly dominates our lives. And so, slowly, from generation to generation, the meaning of faith is being "lost," and we are moving away from it. Whether it is right or not, it is not for me to judge... I decide for myself.

Statistically, especially in big cities, parents are less likely to baptize their children than in the past. However, it is still a small percentage... I don't know the latest data, but in 2016, out of 385,000 births, 374,000 children were baptized. Many parents want to give their child the right to choose when they grow up, which in my opinion is not a bad idea.

Once upon a time, religion tried to explain the creation and functioning of the world and humanity. Today, science does that. In my opinion, it does a much better job than religion. Maybe that's why people are moving away from religion. By the way, I believe that God came into existence in this way: human tribes expanded and it increasingly happened that the alpha male (the most important, most powerful man in the tribe) was no longer seen by the majority of tribe members. This probably occurred when there were already cities. Perhaps city dwellers still saw him, but not the villagers. However, people still talked about him, that he was great, powerful, capable of many things. The news about him spread. And that's how the concept of God emerged - few people saw him, but it was known that he was great, powerful, possibly wise and also good. Often, one had to pay homage to him or offer a grain of grain or a little money...

Everyone has the right to their own opinion and choice. It is important to respect and accept the diversity of views and decisions of others. We should not judge those who choose not to baptize their children, just as we should not judge those who choose to go through with this ritual. Regardless of whether someone chooses baptism for their child or not, it is important to provide them with good values and moral upbringing. Religion can be one of many ways, but it is not the only way to do so. Lastly, it is important to remember that parents are the primary caretakers of their children and should make decisions they consider to be the best for them.

The baptism of children is also part of Polish culture and tradition, which has its roots in Christianity.

From what I understand from what you wrote, you don't have faith. You understand baptism as a tradition. Baptism, getting married in the church, communion, and confirmation, these sacraments should be received by people with faith, not because it's a tradition, because everyone does it, because my neighbor goes to church so I do too, etc.

If the offspring is not raised in their own faith, the left-wing party and the streets will raise them, meaning it will be lost for the majority. Nothing good will come out of such an environment.
