At what age should children start using a phone?

"According to the study ‘Toddler in the Web’ – conducted by the Special Pedagogy Academy in Warsaw among parents of the youngest children – over half (54%) of infants aged 0 to 6 use mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, or laptops. The average age of initiation in using this type of device is 2 years and 2 months. The average time children spend in front of a screen is 1 hour and 15 minutes. This also applies to infants who have not yet reached their first year of life (!). Particularly concerning is the fact that a large group of infants (75%) use devices with open access to the internet. The majority (88%) of the youngest users of the web and digital devices exclusively use apps or websites aimed at children (videos, cartoons, games, coloring, etc.), but every tenth child also has access to content that is not intended for them. According to the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the World Health Organization (WHO), young children should spend as little time as possible in front of screens. Parents should not provide screen devices to children under 18 months of age, and in the case of older children (2 to 5 years old), screen time should not exceed one hour per day. It is best for young children to use media in the presence of a parent or another adult." Source: gov.pl At what age did children in your close circle start using a cellphone? When did you give your child their first phone? How do you approach the issue of watching cartoons with your little ones?"
