Change of power and TVP

"There are voices that the plans regarding TVP are already quite concrete. The opposition claims that the changes will be sudden, and the changes will be implemented quickly. The plan includes the liquidation of the current media companies, namely TVP and Polish Radio. In their place, caretaker boards are to be appointed, which would not be subject to dismissal by the National Media Council. The state of liquidation would only be revoked after statutory reforms of the media market. They would deprive the National Media Council of the right to appoint the boards of public media. Apparently, Janusz Daszczyński is being considered for the position of the new president of TVP. The changes are also supposed to affect journalists dealing with news."

It is difficult to predict exactly what will happen to TVP if the opposition takes power, as it depends on many factors. However, certain changes in the way the station operates can be expected. Currently, TVP is often criticized for being a party radio, subservient to the ruling party and serving to spread their political narrative. If the opposition takes power, it can be presumed that they will seek to eliminate this party domination and make TVP a more independent institution. It is also possible that the opposition will take action to increase media pluralism in Poland. They may introduce new rules regarding oversight of TVP to ensure informational balance and diversity of perspectives. However, it should be remembered that changes in TVP will also depend on the opposition itself, their political vision, and priorities. It cannot be excluded that the new power may have other plans regarding public media. In any case, it is important to maintain a constructive approach and strive to create access to independent and diverse information, regardless of the outcome of the change in power in Poland.

According to me, it will cease to exist.
