Compensation for flight cancellation
"Recently, I was flying from Italy to Poland and my flight was canceled and rescheduled from Friday to Saturday. It was a return flight paid for by the company I work for. The company incurred additional costs due to the payment for an extra night in a hotel and car rental, and therefore, they will be seeking reimbursement for these expenses from the airlines. I have a question, can I also seek compensation for the canceled flight in this situation (since I also had to change my plans because of it)? I received information about the flight cancellation a few days before the flight. I also wanted to know what compensation I may be entitled to. The original flight was supposed to be from Bologna to Warsaw (1115 km) with a layover in Vienna (distance from Bologna to Vienna - 565 km, distance from Vienna to Warsaw - 556 km). The flight that took place the next day had a layover in Amsterdam (Bologna - Amsterdam 995 km, Amsterdam - Warsaw 1095 km)."
