I am afraid of an attack by Russia, I am thinking of buying weapons. How to get a permit?

I do not recommend buying weapons at the present time. When you buy a weapon, you will appear in the register that could hypothetically fall into the hands of the enemy army. And you probably know what will happen.

In addition, such a pistol is of little use if you do not have training, and under Polish law, it can mainly harm you.

Instead of buying a pistol, it is better to sign up for the TDF, thanks to which you will be implemented and trained in the use of weapons, thanks to which you will be able to defend your family more effectively, whether in a unit or during an escape.

To obtain a firearms use permit, you must be at least 21 years of age, be registered in the territory of the Republic of Poland and not be convicted by final judgments.

Then you will have a series of medical and psychological tests, as well as a theoretical test of knowledge of the rules and practical test of the ability to use a weapon. Unfortunately, you will have to spend a lot of money. Medical and psychological tests cost several hundred zlotys, but not more than 742 zlotys. Additionally, you will pay for taking the exam, which, depending on the goals of gun ownership, can cost from 300 to 600 zlotys.

The last expense is a document that confirms obtaining permission to possess a weapon and a special certificate, thanks to which you will be able to legally buy weapons. You will pay a total of PLN 259 for both components. You will wait from a few weeks to even half a year for the final decision.

And what is all this for? We will not be attacked by the Russians. We are in NATO and the European Union. Russia will be "licking its wounds" after the conflict in Ukraine for many years, so there is no possibility for it to attack now.

To obtain a firearms license, you must meet the following:

• have Polish citizenship;
• Not be convicted by a final judgment;
• Be over 21 years of age;
• Be registered in the territory of the Republic of Poland;
• You must be physically and mentally healthy;
• Pass the exam in theoretical and practical knowledge.

You can also join a shooting club. And participate in shooting training. There you will learn the basics of safe use of weapons. In such clubs they have various weapons that you can familiarize yourself with. Long, short, shotguns, rifles. After 3 months you can take the firearms license exam.
