In what era would you like to live?

I believe that the era we live in now is the best. We have technology at the highest level, medicine has developed incomparably in the last 20 years, and we are not grounded in one place - at any moment, you can board an airplane and fly to the other side of the world. Someone may say, but war, inflation, Covid, etc. In every era, there have been and will be bigger or smaller problems, but as good as it is now, I believe it has never been like this before. Besides, we live in one of the best countries in the world.

I would gladly return to the era of late communism in Poland, but only on the condition that it wouldn't reset my life experiences and current possessions: knowledge and skills. A piece of life all over again!

I would be most drawn to ancient Greece, as it was a period of great discoveries and progress in science and art. It was a time when great thinkers such as Plato and Aristotle revolutionized philosophy. Democracy, architecture, and sculpture flourished - masterpieces such as the Parthenon and the statue of Zeus at Olympia were created. The Greeks discovered many laws governing nature and humanity. It was a time of great historical figures like Alexander the Great and Socrates. Life in ancient Greece seems intellectually stimulating and full of inspiration. I could directly experience this extraordinary period of Western civilization's development.

In order to better understand our civilization, where we come from, and where we are heading, it would be worth to "experience" each era in order. The possibility of such an experience may arise in the future when people will master the formula of immortality (e.g. through cellular exchange systems) and then the formula of energy transfer through time (e.g. through teleportation). For cognitive purposes, I would choose a period in the future that allows safe travel to the past... and to the future :)

This is a difficult question because each era has its unique aspects that can be interesting to explore. However, if I had to make a choice, I would like to live in the future. Being a witness to the future can be incredibly exciting and inspiring. We could see what the world will be like in 100 or even 1000 years - what technologies, discoveries, or social changes will take place. It would be an extraordinary experience and could help us better understand our current situation. The future is also full of unknowns, which means we would have the opportunity to influence its shape. We can contribute to creating something new, innovative, and meaningful. Perhaps we could help solve global issues such as climate change or poverty. The future gives us the opportunity for change and progress. However, of course, being in the future would also involve certain risks and unknown threats. We cannot be sure what awaits us there and what the consequences of our actions will be. We would have to be prepared for the fact that the future will not always be perfect and may have its difficulties. Nonetheless, it seems to me that the future is more interesting. I would like to see how our world develops and be a part of that process. Perhaps I would discover something new about myself and about us as a species. The future is an unexplored territory full of possibilities and challenges that I would like to know and experience.

If I could go back in time, I would like to find myself in the pre-war period. Speaking in old Polish, before the spelling reform, trying out the fashion of that time. Perhaps, who knows, I could even go to Hanka Ordonówna's performance, of course "hand in hand" with the gentleman with whom I would have arranged to meet at nine.

I like our century, era the most. Because now we are free, we can live the way we want and easily achieve what we want.

Definitely our era. In most countries, we have cheap access to electricity and the internet. We have a lot of free knowledge at our fingertips. We have almost constant access to drinking water and diverse food, even in winter. We have such a developed civilization that in most societies, people do not die of hunger or cold. Healthcare has never been at such a high level. In most countries, including Poland, we have a developed system of social security and public healthcare. These solutions are not perfect, they have many flaws - but thanks to them, in old age when we are unable to work, we are not solely dependent on the mercy of our children/relatives, and if we become ill or have an accident, there are tools (ambulances, emergency rooms) that can save our lives.

I would gladly move several hundred years ahead and see how life will be then, whether it will be much better or maybe worse. I definitely wouldn't want to go back to the past because the present is better than any previous era. There has never been such a big development as there is now, and such an advanced medicine. Now we are able to live much better than kings did several hundred years ago, even as ordinary people.

Personally, I believe that I live in good times. The modern era, especially the years 2000-2020. After the fall of communism, Poland began to become a democratic country. In 1999, Poland joined NATO and in 2004 joined the European Union. Borders were opened and since then it has been possible to travel the world. During these years, there was rapid development in science and technology, and the country developed economically and industrially. Life was relatively prosperous, more peaceful, and less stressful. Unfortunately, now it is only getting worse. The new era in the history of the Earth is unofficially called the Anthropocene, which means the human era from the Greek word anthropos - human. The challenges for humanity in the 21st century include shrinking planetary resources due to excessive exploitation of deposits, global climate change, extreme weather events, melting glaciers, environmental pollution, as well as wars, rapid digitization, misinformation, and online fraud, etc. Where is this world heading?

Today is the best. But to satisfy my curiosity, I would like to learn more about ancient times.

Renaissance, although the Middle Ages are considered the first period of modern times, it is only in the Renaissance that one can see the enormous differences that have occurred in human minds and mentalities.

They had cool architecture during the Renaissance, but it is only possible to return to the future through architecture.

If I could go back to any period, I would definitely choose the late 80s of the 20th century after the fall of communism. Thanks to my current knowledge about the market and economy, it would be easier to start my own business in the yet unconquered, new capitalist economy. Additionally, the opening to a multi-party system would allow me to establish myself in the new, non-communist sphere of politics.

In my opinion, all eras have their unique charm. Personally, I would gladly move to ancient Greece.

Although every era has its fascinating characteristics, I would choose to live in the Renaissance. This period was rich in the flourishing of art, science, and culture, which would allow me to draw from the wealth of intellectual and artistic environment. I would desire to experience a personal influence on the development of humanism and uncover the secrets of great minds of that time. However, an equally intriguing option would be to travel to the future and see how technology, society, and science are evolving. This would not only give me a vision of what the world might look like in a few decades, but also enable me to bring knowledge and experience from the past, contributing to the progress and evolution of society.

I feel good here and now. Today's world is open, there are possibilities to choose your own place on earth and live there, to live in harmony with oneself. I just hope that mankind will never possess the ability to time travel... that would be a field for manipulation...
