What is empathy and can it be developed?
"From a very young age, we hear about empathy and its significant role in human life. Even as children in school, we are taught to be understanding, to help others, or to react to injustice. However, not everyone has a well-developed empathy, as evidenced by people who abuse animals. What exactly is empathy then? Can it be developed? If so, how? Is it passed on through genes, or does it need to be learned? Why do people sometimes remain insensitive to harm?"
