Degeneration of the hip joint and athletic activity.
Hi.
As a result of a fatal fracture of the femur (by the way, this is a story to be told at another time) I had a titanium rod implanted in the bone and about 6 screws, of which at least 2 were screwed into my hip. After the operation to remove the iron, I started going for longer walks. I could do 17-18 kilometers a day. More often than not, it ended up returning home with some degree of pain. Sometimes it happened that I had no pain, you know, it varies. I went to the doctor with this, we did an X-ray of the hip and degenerative changes were found on the side where the fracture was (the joint was not affected during the fracture). The orthopedic doctor claims that the degenerative changes I have are not fundamentally different from other people and this is the norm. He also claims that I am fully healthy and have no restrictions on my work and that I can do sports normally. BUT, I don't fully trust what he says, because when I wasn't walking yet and the bone was just growing, I wanted to ask him for a referral for rehabilitation, and then he said that I don't need any rehabilitation and I'll start walking on my own. I got a referral for rehabilitation from his superior, and the physiotherapists put me back on my feet,
I have a request for you now. Maybe there is a competent person here who could tell me whether I really should not do sports (I mean long walks, running, gym) or, on the contrary, that I should, because it will support the production of synovial fluid.
Regards :)
