Which Mediterranean island is the best place to move to?
We are considering moving from Poland to the south. We like it in Cyprus, but I wonder if we won't get bored there after a while.
Mallorca is an option, but we've heard of a Spanish law that allows people to break into houses that don't belong to them and acquire residency there by usucaption.
Both of these islands have a million inhabitants each, so there is civilization there. For this reason, Malta is too small for me.
I've never been to Sicily and there seems to be a lot of culture and sights there, as well as 5 million people. But I am concerned about organized crime...
Apparently, there are very cheap real estate on the Italian islands (Sicily, Corsica, Sardinia), maybe someone will confirm it.
I look forward to your insights and experiences.
