Is there anything that can be done to stop thinking in a dream that it's true?

"I am very annoyed that when I am sleeping, this damn brain believes in every single thing it dreams about as if it were true. This is the source of stress at night, during the time when I should be resting. Is there anything I can do about it? I don't even want to dream, it annoys me that dreams present me with imagined situations where the brain thinks it's true and renders its own behavior, taking on roles as if it were true and making decisions as if someone is asking it questions in the dream or as if the imaginary situation requires it. I want to break free from this, I want to rest at night."
