There are plenty of ways to do it, but the question is, what are you good at to get paid for it? Maybe you can write well, you have artistic skills, you easily convince others to your point, you can sell snow to Eskimos? Without an answer to this basic question, any advice I make will be a blind shot. Therefore, in the first place, I suggest you make a list of skills and talents, and then look for the best niche on the Internet. This will save you a lot of time and possibly money as well.

However, I will share an idea, still little known in Poland, but in my opinion quite future-proof and requiring neither specialist knowledge nor large financial outlays. Necessary to operate in this niche are creativity, patience and at least basic knowledge of the English language. It is about publishing books, ebooks or coloring books via Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing).

Not every Amazon user in Poland knows that KDP has not only a huge e-book market, but also a print-on-demand service known as Make on Demand (or Print on Demand). This means that the book is printed only at the time of purchase, so the author does not bear the costs of printing and storing a large print run. This greatly simplifies the life of novice authors.

Some creators have made Amazon KDP (Kindle Digital Publishing) their way of life, and even boast that selling products made years ago still brings them passive income. This, of course, attracts newcomers to the platform, so their competition is growing month by month, but as everywhere, a novice user has to put in some effort before he starts earning real money.

To create the first product, all you need is some skills and a graphic program, but this does not mean that it will surely find its buyer. First of all, it is important to hit the right niche and the customer's taste, and this is rarely possible for novice creators, but you should not give up anyway. There are even special plugins and programs that analyze Amazon KDP for trends and sales volumes in specific niches. Thanks to this, you can immediately start with the product for which there is a demand and increase your chances of selling.

The more products you have as a creator, the greater the chance of a satisfactory result. In addition, I heard that Amazon supports such people through its algorithms, because they want customers to leave as much money as possible on the platform. This is easier to achieve by promoting someone who has several hundred products than someone who has only a dozen or so.

For example, a lot of people buy there coloring books for children with a specific theme. If you do one or two, it will be difficult for you to break through the hundreds of thousands of offers in this category. But if you do 100 of them, not only will more people notice your products, in addition, some of them will probably buy more than one thing. And if they like the performance, they might come back for more in the future.

Another, supposedly more profitable piece of the pie are ebooks. It was from them that Amazon KDP started, the name itself contains the name of their Kindle reader. Creating an ebook (especially one that also has a print option) is much more difficult than a coloring book, calendar or notebook. But at the same time, the competition on this market is much smaller (although we are still talking about hundreds of thousands or millions of different items) and the margin on a given product is higher, because it is between 30-60 percent. prices. It doesn't seem like much, but if you compare these numbers with offers from traditional publishing houses, which give authors a maximum of 10 percent. profit, and in addition not necessarily from the cover price.

Until recently, Amazon severely restricted the languages in which books or ebooks were allowed to be published. Fortunately, in the fall of 2022, they allowed the possibility of creating also in Polish, so a quite interesting perspective opened up for Polish authors.

Of course, the English-language market is huge compared to Polish, so there is no reason to delude yourself that someone will manage to break through with their book outside our country, if they do not decide to translate. But this is the standard in the publishing market.

In my opinion, it is worth at least trying to get on Amazon KDP before it becomes very popular, because it may pay off in the future. Nobody will create thousands of products overnight, you have to do your time and make some mistakes along the way. But with the right perseverance (and expanding your range with products that can also be bought by people from other countries) the chances of success are still quite high. After all, we are talking about the largest bookstore in the world with millions of customers a day, and they are unlikely to let go of the Polish market so easily, so the prospects are promising.
