Confiscation of the car for driving under the influence of alcohol?

Yes, it will be possible soon. Late last night, the government voted to amend the Penal Code. Provisions were introduced to it stating that drivers whose blood test shows 1.5 per mille and more alcohol - and the perpetrators of the accident/collision, whose test shows 0.5 and more, can expect the confiscation of their car. The amendment to the regulations still needs to be signed by the President. It will come into force - after a period of 3 months from its publication. Such a change in regulations in Poland will be a novelty. However, there are countries where taking vehicles for various offenses on the road has been in force for many years and on the basis of much stricter regulations than in Poland. Examples include France, Austria, Denmark, Finland and Switzerland. And so in Switzerland, after the assessment, we can lose the car when we cause excessive noise at night, when we exceed the speed on the highway by 50 km / h, or when the test shows 0.5 per mille of alcohol. Confiscation of a car driven by a person other than the owner is possible provided that he was a passenger at the time. In Denmark, you can lose your car when you double over the speed limit of 50 km / h, and driving a vehicle after consumption, when the test shows 2 per mille and more. In France, the list of offenses for which you can lose your vehicle is quite long. These include, for example, a collision under the influence of alcohol (min. 0.5 per mille) and fleeing the scene of the accident, as well as for the lack of compulsory insurance and driving license. If you are the owner, the car is confiscated. In other cases, the equivalent of the car in euros is charged. alk. What do you think about it?
