What could be the cause of an enlarged spleen in a 13-year-old girl?
On November 3, the daughter had an abdominal ultrasound, which revealed that her spleen was enlarged. The doctor said she was bigger than she should be at her age. On 08/11 we have a one-day stay in the hospital and our endocrinologist is to consult the result with a hematologist. What could the enlargement of this organ be caused by? Is Spleen Enlargement Life Threatening? The daughter's health is generally good, but she often complains of abdominal pain in this area, nausea and backache, and she is healthy. One-day hospital stay in the endocrinology department (the aim is to do more detailed research and treatment of obesity). The daughter is 159 cm tall and weighs 65 kg.
