How to effectively fight algae in the aquarium?
As the topic. I have a 250L tank. A lot of plants and fish, in my opinion, also enough. For 4-5 months I have been struggling with algae, mainly Compsopogon (long black threads at the ends of plant leaves) and diatoms locally attack me, but I do not care about these. I noticed that the increase was most likely when I replaced one of the filter granule baskets with a sponge in the JBL bucket filter and now, looking from the bottom of the filter, I have a sponge / AZOO Active Filter 4in1 / AZOO Active Filter 4in1 (3 baskets in total). Maybe too little of this biological contribution has been made? In addition, in the group of fish I had 4 adult mowers (12-15 cm), which after 3 years died one after another within a month. I do not have a gas cylinder, CO2 from moonshine bottles :) Additionally, C02 in the liquid irregularly. I don't use any fertilizers. I try to rummage in the bottom once every 3 months or less. I only regularly trim weeds :) 4x39W lamps but 2x39W fluorescent lamps on. In the tank, I also have a typical internal sponge filter. Any advice on where to start. Pruning leaves, cleaning the bucket for 2 months, gentle cleaning does not work
