Learning a foreign language, how?

Many contents, books, articles, etc. have already been created on this topic.

I will write to you what is the most important and how to start, even when you don't have many options to choose from.

Of course, it's best to go abroad, oh yes! I am a living example of this, but what if we don't know how or what to go for?

If you have a scientific mind, learning a language will be more difficult, but not impossible, so you have to ask yourself if you are a humanist or if the sciences are easier for you.

In short: Is it better for me at school with math, physics, or Polish, English, etc.?

There are a few ways to learn a language, even for free and without going abroad, contrary to appearances.

It's best if you already have some basics, like level A1 or A2, then it's easier to continue learning.

But if not, you have to start from scratch, then you need to first read about the structures, parts of a sentence and speech, in general, the grammar and syntax rules of the language, or simply learn a bit dryly.

The best are books or textbooks, but there is also a lot of knowledge on the internet about this.

Vocabulary is also crucial, to use a foreign language you have to know it well, I will mention it in a moment.

After familiarizing yourself with the rules, you can look for a good language learning app, I will write a few recommendations: Duolingo, Babbel, Busuu.

When I was learning, I used flashcards, which are very helpful for learning vocabulary.

Personally, I used the Fiszkoteka app, which is really great!

Of course, it's good to simply take a course, and if so, look for a good quality-to-price ratio.

The next thing is a dictionary and translator.

You can have a book dictionary or one on your phone, for me, PONS and Langescheid work best.

If you need a good translator, definitely not Google, I recommend deepL.com

When you learn a bit and understand well, a great thing is to watch and listen to content in a foreign language, if you're watching, it's best to have Polish, etc. subtitles, just in your native language.

We live in such times, always on the go and lacking time for things other than work and duties, I know something about it.

You don't have to learn a foreign language for a long time at once, like a few hours a day, the most important thing is regularity and dedication of a few or all days of the week, even for half an hour or an hour, then the results will come very quickly.

May the Force be with you! 👊 🤟
