In September 1983, the Microsoft Word 1.0 text editor was created, offering formatting options such as styles, page numbering, and header creation. It operated in the MS-DOS environment from 1981. In 1989, the first version of the Microsoft Office suite debuted on the market, which included the Word text editor, Excel spreadsheet, and PowerPoint graphic presentation software. For nearly 30 years, Microsoft has been improving its software by constantly monitoring the effectiveness of its solutions. It is no longer just a suite, but a group of IT product applications, software, communication tools, and data storage. The "invention" has become a process of improvement and continues to evolve. The use of machine learning will initiate a self-improvement process. The distribution method has also changed. When Microsoft Office ceased to be a suite, its updates were carried out continuously. The more efficient solution turned out to be the service usage rather than license sales. Microsoft Office 365 became a service available to everyone after creating an account on the platform. Simply select it in the browser at www.office.com. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was first presented during the Direct Sound ASIA conference in March 2018. Another version of this software for small and medium-sized enterprises is called "Microsoft Dynamics NAV." This software has been available in Poland since March 2019. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a comprehensive business management solution developed by Microsoft, combining multiple systems into one integrated application that allows for the linking of company's business processes. The integration of systems aims to improve the flexibility of operations in the company, ensuring its development at a balanced pace and real-time adaptation to needs. Mary Parker Follett (1868-1933), recognized as the mother of management, presented the view early in the 20th century that interdisciplinary teams allow for the use of each team member's knowledge in a motivating and efficient manner. She believed that "formal authority in an organization should be divided horizontally among departments, rather than vertically, up and down the hierarchy. This approach, she argued, would bring about cooperation based on expertise, not on power or position." Microsoft, founded in 1975, refers back to the forgotten views of M. Parker Follett. According to their declaration, "Our mission is to enable people and organizations around the world to achieve more," and they support development regardless of hierarchy by using technology to create platforms that integrate diversity of information in the data exchange process for the sake of achieving synergy.
