Monero developers today launched a network update containing a new version of the software for the "Oxygen Orion" node. 30 developers have been working on the product, the update promises a significant improvement in all aspects of privacy-focused cryptocurrency performance. The highlight of the new update is the compact Spontaneous Anonymous Group (CLSAG) feature that can be linked. Monero, CLSAG will reduce transaction sizes by 25% and shorten transaction times by 10% while maintaining transaction privacy. The creators wrote: "CLSAG enables smaller and faster transactions while maintaining strict security." In addition to CLSAG, the new update brings network security improvements, especially with regard to Dandelion ++, which is responsible for hiding users' IP addresses. Technically, Monero updates are hard fork, so network participants should make sure their software is up to date. Users who keep their XMR in a hardware wallet will need to stay up to date with the latest software.
