The coronavirus pandemic led to an increase in unemployment, which reached 6% at the end of May, which means that over a million citizens were left out of work.

Compared to April, the increase in unemployment in May amounted to 0.2 percentage points, while compared to May 2019 it is higher by 0.6 percentage points. Marlena Maląg, the head of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, remains optimistic. He believes that the situation in Poland is relatively stable, which he attributes, among other things, to the support provided to entrepreneurs under the anti-crisis and financial shield.
