Update: nuclear weapons in Poland

France has assessed that the deployment of nuclear weapons in Poland would undermine the Russia-NATO Founding Act of 1997.

Russia has threatened that nuclear weapons in Poland would become a top priority target for its army.

The French Ministry of Defense Chief Lecornu stated that such a decision requires discussion with allies, but acknowledged that Russia also violates the Founding Act by deploying nuclear weapons in Belarus.

The Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Riabkov warned that "actions in this direction will not provide Poland with greater security, only nuclear facilities in Poland will be at the top of the list for the Russian army."
