Thinking about the Wild West, one cannot forget about the beginnings of the local railway

Good morning:)

Today I present an infographic showing the First Transcontinental Railroad in North America. It was built in the 1860s and connected the eastern United States with California and the coast of the Pacific Ocean.

Completed on May 10, 1869, the line made it possible to replace settler caravans with a more convenient and cheaper means of transport. The new rail connection contributed to the rapid growth of the population of the western USA and the rapid development of the American economy.
