Secrets of the kingdom of Assyria
Good morning
I recommend an infographic designed by me about the secrets of the Kingdom of Assyria from the reign of King Sargon II.
Mesopotamia is considered the birthplace of the first civilization in human history. Located between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, it was an area with very fertile soils and easy access to water, which enabled agriculture and settlement to flourish.
An extraordinary event that shed new light on the history of this region was the discovery in the 1990s of a place called Göbekli Tepe. It is considered to be the oldest known place of worship created by man (its creation dates back to 10,000 BC).
An interesting fact is that it is located in the vicinity of the ancient city of Harran. In this city, according to Christian, Muslim and Jewish tradition, God revealed himself to Abraham. genius loci? I intend to prepare an infographic dedicated to this discovery in the future.
The period of Mesopotamia's early history, dating from around 4000 BC, was marked by the appearance of the first agricultural settlements, as well as the invention of cuneiform writing, which made it possible to record and transmit knowledge and communicate in writing.
Over the centuries, numerous countries developed here, such as Sumer, Akkad, Babylonia, Assyria and Persia, which created extensive administrative, legal and religious systems, and also developed science, art and architecture.
The Kingdom of Assyria was founded around the second half of the 3rd millennium BC in the area of Mesopotamia, which covered the area between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Assyria began as one of many city-states, but as time went on it became an increasingly influential player in the region.
I designed the model of the palace in Dur-Sharrukin in 3D using the Cinema 4D program.
