When it comes to electricity consumption, dishwashers in class F to C are currently available on the market. The difference between the classes is not that big and saves only PLN 27 in electricity bills per year. Taking into account the differences in the prices of devices, saving electricity will never come back to us.

3. Noise

The difference is quite significant in the individual device. The cheapest and loudest dishwashers generate noise at the level of 49-51 decibels, more expensive but quieter ones can go down to 36-41 decibels. So the difference is quite significant. It is best to choose dishwashers that are in the middle of this rate, i.e. they generate a volume of 42-44 decibels and cost from PLN 1,500 to PLN 1,900.

4. Capacity

If you are the only person using the dishwasher, it is better to choose size 45.

5. Programmers and their functions


Eco-the most economical and longest program, suitable for moderately dirty dishes;

The auto-program automatically selects the most effective parameters thanks to the water turbidity sensor.

Intensive - a relatively short program of 60-90 minutes at high temperature; ideal for medium soiled dishes.

Delicate - program for dishes and glasses that require special handling, low temperature and usually less pressure;

Self-cleaning - the high-temperature program makes it easy to clean the dishwasher;

Pots - High temperature and long wash time is a good feature for heavily soiled but durable dishes.

Pre-rinse - shower only, rinsing dishes with cold water;

Short / Quick / Party - 20-30 minutes low temp program; suitable for lightly soiled dishes;

Night long program at low temperature with reduced water pressure to reduce noise levels.

6. Types of work signalling

Most devices available on the market signal the end of work with a signal. Depending on the price, we can buy a dishwasher that has a built-in projector shining on the floor and counting down the time until the end of washing. The projector is available in most Bosch/Siemens products.

How to use dishwashers?

First, set the water hardness. Each device comes with a strap that shows us how hard our water is when wet.

The correct setting of the dishwasher will allow the correct dosing of rinse aid and salt. A poorly adjusted dishwasher will not clean the dishes and, over time, will start to rust. After some time, cleaning of the device will be required, then the filter is removed, which must be cleaned of debris and washed.

During operation, you should also check the level of salt, which will allow the dishwasher to regenerate and not rust. The amount should not fall below 1/3 of the container.

Take care of your new appliance, because repairing dishwashers is not cheap. Replacing the pump or programmer is a price of up to PLN 800, and you should not get used to durability. The current lifetime of dishwashers is 4 to 7 years.

Perhaps someone will perceive this post as spam, but I don't know how to prove that it is not. I've traveled a lot over the past dozen or so years, so I've lived in many apartments and used many dishwashers. If I had to give simple advice, I'd just say "buy a Bosch". In my opinion, this gives you the best chance that you will be satisfied with your purchase. They are the most ergonomic and everything about them is logical and obvious. Enter allegro in dishwashers. Select the manufacturer and sort DESCENDING by price to see all possible features that are available in the most expensive models. You'll probably see some abstract 6k at the top, but go down in price gradually. Features will go away and the price will drop. As a rule, the price drops faster than the functionality decreases, because premium models are always overpriced. Stop at a place where the price is acceptable and the functions are sufficient and buy this one :) I used this method at home and it has served me well for 14 years.

To choose a good dishwasher, you should pay attention to several important parameters. Firstly, it is worth looking at the energy class of the dishwasher - the higher the class, the lower the power consumption. Another important parameter is water consumption - the lower, the better for the environment and your wallet. Furthermore, it is worth paying attention to the capacity of the dishwasher and the programs it offers. When it comes to companies, it is worth paying attention to reputable brands such as Bosch, Siemens, or Miele. These are companies known for the high quality of their products and innovative solutions. On the other hand, it is advisable to avoid cheap brands, which often do not meet expectations in terms of durability and effectiveness.
