Huawei released a new smartphone Mate40 with built in hardware wallet for CBDC of China
Chinese tech giant Huawei has launched a new smartphone that supports a hardware wallet for the digital currency of the Chinese central bank.
Yu Chengdong, Huawei's CEO, announced the launch of the new Huawei Mate 40 smartphone. The Mate40 is the first smartphone to use a hardware wallet for the Chinese digital yuan, known as DC / EP. Huawei Mate40 will provide hardware-level security with controlled anonymity for the digital yuan. An additional function of the physical DC / EP wallet is also the acceptance of offline transactions.
