The latest VeChain app makes food safer

The newly released VeChain tool offers a suite of services that will enable the food sector to implement chain safety management services. These services include traceability templates that allow you to track things like origin, cross-border traceability, entire process traceability, and more. The company has high hopes that the tool will be useful for a number of sub-sectors and products, such as fresh food, dairy, alcohol and wine, and imported food.

Firms will also gain access to third party services such as PwC, Deloitte, DNV GL, among others, to help them lower the cost of certification, auditing, insurance and supply chain financial services.

VeChain found that most of the BaaS platforms and companies in the market today only provide support for complex services, "such as node deployment."

"This huge barrier to entry hampers blockchain adoption in the food sector. With VeChain ToolChain, ready-to-use blockchain applications can be deployed and implemented quickly to solve real business needs."

The basis is also built-in, ready-to-use templates, modeled on food cultivation, processing, packaging, logistics, retail and more.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently released a food safety draft and pilot study, highlighting that blockchain is a viable option for some challenges.
