On June 24, the Brazilian Economic Defense Administrative Council, known locally by its Portuguese abbreviation "CADE", suspended the agreement between Facebook and Brazilian payment company Cielo to process WhatsApp payments.
On June 30, the Administrative Council overturned the decision, however, WhatsApp payments remain suspended as a result of parallel actions taken by the Brazilian central bank.
