XRP in last weeks - what is it all about?

Hi. Recently, the price of XRP has skyrocketed unfortunately wrong way. While surfing the Internet I came across information that the SEC has filed a lawsuit against Ripple and its founders. What exactly is it about? Why was there such a storm i and the price reacted with such a big drop? Then right now it's up again. Is it something connected with gamestop or DOGE? Thanks in advance
