PW Audio cables terminated in FLAT 2pin - unique!

[Post for my Portable Summit-fi Audio group members]

This is really something! Peter Wong just sent me the photos of my cables reterminated into flat 2pin. From what I know, these may be the very first PWA flagship cables terminated with flat 2pin plugs in the world! Or at least in the western world.

In case you don't know why it matters: most cables nowadays are terminated with protruding 2pin plugs, and most flagship IEMs get a flat 2pin socket. While it may not be very cumbersome with an universal IEM, which tend to protrude a bit outside of the ears, with a custom IEM it's often very uncomfortable. Why? Because the plug protrudes so much that it tends to hurt your temples and pulls the CIEM out of your ears.

I'm attaching a few illustrations showcasing both the problem and the difference between these two types of plugs.

I believe manufacturers in the future should really consider matching their cable types with the sockets on their IEMs and I don't understand why they don't do so. Some audiophiles I spoke too are with me on this.

This is the same story with Effect Audio's CONX system (a system for replacing the plugs easily by the user), where they provide a protruding 2pin connector, but have somehow forgotten to also make a flat2pin option too.

On the main photo you can see PWA x Unique Melody First Times Shielding and Meet Agains Shielding (yes!). On the last photo one of the only 5 in the world Unique Melody LeJardin in custom format. Actually I love these cables so much that I have several of them, either collected from weak hands via classifieds or straight from the source.
